Serangoon Road is an Australian television drama series set to screen on HBO (nowTV Channel: 115) set to screen from 22 September 2013 on HBO. This 1960s detective drama revolves around Serangoon Road in Singapore. The 10-part series is a collaboration between ABC and HBO Asia and was filmed largely on Indonesia’s Batam Island. It was created by Paul Barron and directed by Peter Andrikidis and Tony Tilse
Episode 1 – Pilot Set in 1964-65, Singapore is at a crossroads, with political and racial tensions at fever pitch as the British pull out. Sam Callaghan runs an import/export business with his Malayan partner Kang. He agrees to help neighbour Patricia Cheng at her detective agency after her husband is killed while working on a case.
